Fire Chief Marc Reckmann
Serving Cannon Beach Fire District Since 2016
Fire Chief Reckmann first joined the Cornelius Fire Department in 2001, six years after he was promoted to Lieutenant, and in 2010 he became the Shift Captain.
Reckmann attended Portland Community College for an associate in Fire Technology and then attended Eastern Oregon University for a bachelor in Fire Administration. Reckmann answered the first responder call in 1994 when there was a dire need for volunteers to combat wildland fires. At the time he was only a teenager with little experience because of this, there wasn't a lot he was allowed to do. He took it upon himself to learn more, now he hopes to help our firefighters accomplish that same goal.
Chief was hired in 2016 as a part-time training officer for Cannon Beach and Hamlet RFPD's. He was promoted February of 2020 as the Fire Chief for Cannon Beach RFPD.
Marc does not watch movies too often as he prefers camping and spending time with his family but he enjoyed the book Fire on the Mountain: The True Story of the South Canyon Fire by John Maclean.
