Recruits are the first level of entry into the firehouse before becoming a firefighter.  Recruits will complete 3-4 months of training which includes approximently 130 hours of hands on time, and online homework.  

The Academy is typically run in the evenings and weekends to encourage attendance for those working full-time positions.
